Come out of Sorrow

When one identifies the difference between reality and Imagination and has no means to bridge this gap, he/she paves way to worry. When one is worried he is trapped in this gap and it is the worst disease mankind can ever have. It ruins health and deteriorates the qualities of the five sense organs. Worry is caused by the absence of intellectual knowledge when a particular not so comfortable finding or an incident happens in one's life and when one doesnot know the reason for such a happening.

I will give you a simple, very powerful yet not so easy technique to combat sorrow.
First, Let us know how we react on different occassions.
When we are at peace, we are calm and composed and our BREATH has a smooth rhythm.
When we are tensed or scared our BREATH takes a uphill path.(Stomach Churning)
When we are joyous and ecstatic our BREATH takes a downhill path. (Heart feels light)
When we are angry our BREATH is fast and short.(Facial reaction)

Though we have only one body, it behaves in a different fashion when subjected to different inward and outward conditions which means that our body is not feelproof.
So, when you identify yourself with passion,Joy,anger, lust, sorrow, pain (you name any feeling) and so many other complications, irrespective of whether you feel good or bad, you should have your consciousness on your BREATH. Just have a easy, full, deep, diaphragmatic breathing.

Though you can witness these feelings above, you should not identify yourself through them. Apply common sense whereever possible. Let us say that you play a game and you win. You feel very happy. Can you sustain this happiness forever? Definitely no. The moment you lose you become gloomy and sad faced. Then why have such a feeling which does not last forever?
But PEACE can be a permenant resident of your mind and body with this little practice called BREATH consciousness.

In all your three states (waking, dreaming, deep sleep) that you identify yourself with, you breathe. Is breathing a conscious effort? No, it is an involuntary or subconsious action. But adding consciousness to BREATH will remove all pain and sorrow. A great man said " Breath! One's only prayer. Consciousness! one's only god. Humanity! one's only religion".

On an average an ordinary man breathes (in and out is one cycle) 15 times per minute. In a day we breathe 21600 times. But people with breath consciousness breathe only 16000 times in a day on an average.
These people normally live longer than an average man and they are not affected by any health issues.Their aging process is slow. They are at peace all the time. so what do these men do? Do they stop breathing in between? NO.... They breathe all the time. But they have a deep, full diapragmatic breathing all the time. Try it. It might seem difficult initially but once you are skilfull in this art, you are at peace all the time.

Let us identify the science behind this. When we breathe in, we take in oxygen and when we breathe out, we give out corbon di-oxide. When we have short breath or uneven breath, we fail to give enough oxygen to all corners of the body.
Those cells which are deprived of oxygen are trapped with corbon dioxide and die out. We all know that after a certain age we don't grow. This means that the production of newer cells stops or reduces drastically after a particular age and also we with our improper breathing technique add to the injury by killing more cells as a result of which we show varied symptoms of aging depending upon our body conditions and breathing pattern.
Live longer. Live until you die. Breathe deep. Breathe easy. Be always breath conscious.

How I Quit Smoking

I have recently after starting to experiment with my mind and body through Tantric meditation thought about death. The very Idea of death was scary.
Later I started remembering the few occassions I have been to the death ceremony of my relatives and friends family and I forced myself to go through the same feeling and emotional turmoil I was in when I attended these deaths. I also remembered the numerous occasions when I read about deaths, Killings and bombings through Newspapers.

I was able to find the difference between witnessing death and hearing about death though my Intellectual logic strongly told me that death is the same on both the occassions. I was angry with my self for not treating death on both the occassions with the same degree.
I meditated on this thought for a week and was amused at what I found. The degree of Impact that death had on me was only because of my attachment to the object of death directly or indirectly. I was very happy that I found the answer.

But , I decided to confirm the truth of this finding and wanted to experiment. I was sure that the only way to experiment on this is to die. But again, I wanted to live through this experience and not die with the experiment. So I decided to let go of something that I am very attached with. The very thing that came to my mind was smoking. I felt that to leave smoking and controlling the urge was like the very act of dying. I thought this would be the best way to experiment.

I stopped smoking at 9:30 PM of 1st October 2008. The next day morning (2nd October) at around 11:30 AM,I was having the urge to smoke. I thought about death and said that I will go through this experience with out smoking by attaching myself to that urge. I went through such pain and agony and could feel my body craving for Smoke. By afternoon, I thought that I will go mad if I go through this pain.

At around 2:00 PM I wanted to experience this with out my attachment towards the urge. I strongly said to myself that If this very habit has to control me so much then I cannot be a human being with dignity and pride and I allowed my EGO to fully occupy my mind and consciously told myself that this urge for smoke will not kill me if I don't smoke and that this urge will leave me once it finds that it cannot fight my undettered will and trust me with in a few minutes, I was completely free from this urge and I used to go through attachment and detachment of this urge ( of smoking) with out smoking at my own will. When I instructed my mind to get attached to smoking, My body was craving for smoke and the next moment when I ordered my mind cease attachment, my body and mind were free from this urge. Once I started experiencing the experiment I decided that I will renunciate smoking for ever.

Come what may, Always remember, be it day or night, the SUN never knows darkness

I want it; I don't want it.

The Moment your mind has raised a request or a need and you want something, you have to go through an extensive process in your mind and body to achieve your want. This is strenuous. But you have a choice of saying that you don't want it. Before the want beomes a desire and you involuntarily start meditating on the very thought of a want, if you say NO,the very thought itself is uprooted and you don't have to go through the pain. Be it anything.

Let us take the example of smokers. Think of the first day one would have started to smoke. On the very day, when his mind fancied the act of smoking, there were a lot of fear and anxiety one has to go through. He first is scared of the very act of smoking. He asks himself " What will happen if my family comes to know that I am smoking? Will smoking cause cancer? Will I be addicted? Will people hate me if I smoke? Will there be any side effects? " and so on. And only if the mind works on nullifying all these questions with convincing answers, will it give a go ahead for the very act. Now once the mind ignores all these auto suggestions and questions, the
person takes up smoking and while in the act itself, the smoke initially causes irritation to the body and the person starts coughing. The Body tells the mind that it has to cease the act as it is causing dis-ease (Disease is nothing but dis ease). But the Mind pushes the body to go ahead convincing the body that the pain will pass through and soon he will be able to enjoy smoking. So, for the want (Smoking) to be fulfilled, the person has to go through this physical and mental trauma and slowly the person gets habituated and enjoys the act.Imagine if the person (actually his mind) has said NO to smoking in the very beginning. In such a case the
person(Mind and Body) need not go through the pain at all.

Over the years, the person has a thorough enjoyment and can't stay with out smoking. Imagine one final day, he decides to give up smoking. What does the person say to himself? He never says "I don't want to smoke". Instead he says " I WANT to quit smoking". Again the person has identified a WANT. To acheive what he wants he has to go through the same initial pain that he went through the first time he started to smoke. He has to force his body to renunciate smoking. His mind, he has to make powerful with the will of his heart to give up smoking.

This is the true meaning of attachment and detachment. Remember, If you are not attached to anything you don't have to detach your self. Attachment and detachment has to happen with the side effect of either happiness or pain. The only sutra which has no side effect is non attachment which is often misunderstood as detachment. It is highly impractical to practise non attachment over everything. But if your intellect decides, whether an attachment is worthy of an experience, then their will be no concept of detachment. It is either attachment or non attachment.

Me and the Master

Master
To drink waters from wisdom spring
our minds we must to stillness bring
Then crystal bowl of tranquil mind
with Gnosis fills of supernal kind
But if the very thoughts of mind be as fleeting deer and hind
Such men to wisdom's ways are blind

Me
Lord be Kind I know not how to still my mind
To wisdom's path I am blind
To leave my past behind and to seek beyond
Teach me to unwindthe myseries I find
I cry! Oh I cry! Lord be Kind
My Logic became very sharp
I always find a reason for what ever I do
But My power to open up, the sixth sense I have lost
The price I paid for civilisation, My sixth sense
Not Knowing to find peace with in
I wandered in Plains unknown Seeking peace,
Mistaking Pleasure for joy Seeking Peace outside I settled for lust
I forced my body and mind to accept pleasure
Now they have become slaves and cant live with out these petty pleasures
Oh Lord! I have stained my soul again and again
mistaking pleasure for joy I searched for external tools to make me happy
unware of the difference between Happiness and Joy
Oh! Lord Be Kind
I know not how to still my mind.

Fact Vs Truth

Fact to me might seem unreal to you. Fact is an incident conceived and recorded by the mind as the eyes see it. Fact changes depending upon the eyes of the beholder. On the contrary, Truth is an incident as it happens unaltered by human conceptions. The taming and training of the mind to see the truth beyond the fact makes a man intellectual.

For a wise man, the fact and the truth are the same. Assumptions are not the way of life for him. He analyses the incident with the eye of the hawk and attention to detail becomes his Mantra. They who give into facts and fail to push beyond the framework that their mind can weave are commoners who, over a period of time succumb to knotty nuances of the mind which is always busy altering the truth to feed their ego.

They who elude conceptions of the mind and settle for nothing but truth are but a few. Their presence will not make you feel pleasant. They arouse a fear around you and they shake the basic roots of your beliefs. They march forward undeterred. They chose the toughest methodology in life which is to be simple. They know to keep their mind still. They cease the doubter as they know that the only way to cease doubt is to cease the doubter. They don't wait for acknowledgement.

Womanhood

An old women asked her grandson " What good is a tree which does not give fruits?" and she remarked " Go for another one."
I am grieve stuck at Such discrimination from the same sex.

I ask all the men " What good is a man who only looks for fruits in a tree and does not enjoy its shade?"We always take it for granted and take women as fruit bearing trees while the joy of the shade is the prime objective. We overlook life and more often than not these delicate intricacies are washed off as trifles of meaningless ovations of the madding crowd.

What a woman is to man, the man cannot reciprocate. Yet our society is doomed to the extent of not realising the forbidden truth. A woman is always at the giving end and man the receiving end. How are we going to pay for the services even if I take your stand and call everything a business acumen? Men are not in par with women in comparison as we men, are comfortably numb when it comes to payback. I call us the Weaker sex who are a inferior race and can never accept truth as it is.

But again, we cannot blame the Men as such. Men have been dominant for decades and they are already transforming now to accept women as one among their equals. Now this new found freedom in women, often misunderstood and misused paves way to new problems. They sometimes can't handle this freedom and blow the trumpet that often is too hard for our ears. But It will take time for the women to mature and handle their freedom effectively and without hampering or affecting Men's.

It will take at least two generations for things to settle down.Men have to be patient and take the wrath of this new wave for they have enjoyed undue freedom and women have been too tolerant in the past. It is pay back time for men. This movement is essential to strike a balance in our social relationship. I am happy to say that I understand this trend and its effects and will see through this striking reality (Men have to be prepared for this jolt). Many a men, I am sure will deny this. But my mom agrees to this and so does my wife.

The more the uneasiness, the more the friction. The More the friction, the longer it takes for this commonness among us.

Now it us up to the women to think and act, and up to the men to facilitate a smooth transition.

Glass of Water (Written Upon Popular Request)

There are people whose work speaks for them. There are few who think their only work is to speak.
There are people who are trusted more than their actual credibility and there are those who are seldom trusted inspite of their genuine nature. Then there are those rascals who have sweetness in words but poisoned bitterness at heart. There are those gentlemen who sound bitter because truth is always bitter and there are those silent killers who can never be judged.
Here is a meaningful comparison of people around us with a glass of water. ( After my friends who know me well insisted that I write about this.)

Person 1 - Is a full glass of water. Ofcourse you can quench your thirst irrespective of what kind of a person you are. These people are gentlemen of the first order. The friend you like the most. Now don't ask if he likes you the same. Trust me that purely depends on you and only you.

Person 2 - Is a full glass of water with both his hands covering the glass - You never know if he has water in his glass. The other thing is that you are not interested ih him even if you are thirsty. Trust me !! You would rather die than ask for his help. May be, his attitude sucks!! Huh!!

Person 3 - Is a half full glass of water. You are not sure if you will have your sip. The fear of rejection will not allow you to ask. These people are self sustaining and will only help if you are Person 5 (Refer Below)

Person 4 - Is a half full glass of water with his hands covering the glass - He projects that he is a full glass of water. He might share a sip just to convince you that he is not lying. Not a trusted partner but yeah! You don't have to care as long as you get what you want.

Person 5 - Is an empty glass Who accepts what he is. Trust me!!! whether you want it that way or not, You will be ready to help him. A person with low esteem who knows not how to ask. He will worship you if you help and you will help only for this reason.

Person 6 - Is an empty glass with his hands covering the glass. Now most of us will fall prey for these types. These people will set your expectation high. You will never get what you want because there is nothing in the glass and you will never come to know. You will blame yourself in the end because he will make you feel that you snapped the string. If you are with this person you are doomed.

( Now associate water with the element that you wanted in a person. Be it, Love, Friendship, Knowledge or what ever you expect)

My Child My Teacher

It is really true that a child is a father of a man. In his early stages (3-4 months) my son was driving me crazy and he taught me the hard way on how to be patient. After a couple of months, when his relationship with his surroundings and things around him started making sense to him and more often than not when I started understanding him and watching him closely, his mind has turned out to be a workshop. He would have tried thousand new techniques to understand a lot of things that has caught his attention. One good example was his attempt to lie on his chest. He was practicing this for a week and almost every minute that he was awake, he never gave in to boredom or tiredness. I thought may be he has to wait for one more month or so. The week after, he was able to achieve his task. He taught me to have an undeterred will and perseverance.
Then, the time came when he taught me a precious lesson which I will practice until my death. He was awake lying on bed with pillows on sides as barricades. He kicked the pillow on his right and it fell on the floor and one swift turn on to his right in an attempt to locate the absconding pillow. A banging noise followed by a loud scream. I was in the kitchen cooking and my wife was working on the washing machine. We picked him up and checked for any bruises on his head. Luckily he escaped unhurt.Tears were falling from his eyes. I put him on the bed again and gave a toy. Before his tears were dry, he started roaring into laughter. It was as if he was telling me " Dad, there is no worry in this world worth holding for too long". It took me 30 Years to learn this.

Change Vs Transformation

It is a globally accepted gyan that change is inevitable. Change is the only permanent thing... Blah Blah Blah...
Yeah may be to those people who want to be jack of all arts. I skeptically elude them from my thought and sincerely advise them to close this page. My thoughts represent those who aim at mastery.

Of course, you can change your costume every day, Your toothbrush every month, Your under wears once in two months, Your bike or car once a year. These lifeless things are supposed to change . Are we only as good as these things.
Don't you think that it is more to us than these things? Let us take it that we change ourselves for something or someone today and tomorrow that something or someone is no more a part of our life. Will we continue with that change?Definitely no. We will again change.

You will change so much that one day you will lose the elasticity and live no more and there on you will just exist. If you are so vulnerable to change, probably one day your girfriend may change you for some one else.

If you keep changing to please or convince others you will one day break.
So what do you do? How do you resist change? Transform. Transformation is permanent.

Let every thing around you change while you transform. When you transform, you will be accepted as you are. No questions asked.
None will have the guts or thought of expecting a change from you. Transformation is possible only when you talk to your self.

It is like how you draft a article and re-examine carefully numerous times before you
publish it. Your article will be published only when it is good. Such is transformation. Transformation is a process of refinement of one self.

Change is temporary. I prefer transformation to change. I wish to transform myself into a better human being. I don't think change would do good in the long run.The entirity of the transformation depends upon the need, sustainability and above all your undeterred will with an uncompromising integrity.

My Dad always says " Every man is right in his own thoughts, deeds and actions. No one practices or believes anything with out a valid reason. The Problem arises when a man wants his idea to be followed by all around him and thinks only what he does is right and rest all are folly".

Complexity of life

Beyond the reasoning of Science and technology there is always the unknown myth waiting to be understood.

Science can only view existing system in a new way. Meaning, Every thing is already there. science just rediscovers it and calls it a new name. Even before Newton discovered gravity, the apples were falling.

Can science logically tell us who god is?

What is this myth? Why is it unknown? Why cant it be just made available to every man.

Let us take ourselves. What are we? We have a structure, a body which we can see.. We know heart and mind exists. Scientifically heart and mind are the same. They are just the left and the right cerebrum of your brain. Heart is just an organ. An oxygen pumping machine. But If science can explain everything, we would not have any issues. We know what heart means. It is a bag of desires, dreams, wishes etc.. etc.. Some times an idea can be shared both by the mind as well as the heart!!! Many a times heart wins over the mind or viceversa and pushes the body to do things which generally are deemed impossible. So what is body actually? Is it a medium that holds the mind and the heart? We have a body which is the first worldly thing that we possess in this earth.. In it resides the mind and heart.. Body is mortal.. A perishable commodity.. Mind and heart cannot stay without the body.. So will the mind(Intellect) and the heart(Emotions) perish as well? We can comfortably assume that they will perish too over a period of time (which might even happen long after the body dies.. Not a good idea to have the scientific approach at this stage to debate on this. This could yet be conceived as the myth waiting to be uncovered). If Mind Heart and body are mortal, then what is immortal? What goes on and on with out death. For now let us name it the soul. Mind and Heart takes charge of the body slowly as one grows and the soul gets hidden deep inside us almost in a dormant state. Once the mind instructs the body to do something and body accepts the order and does what it was told to do, the mind feels that it is powerful than any other element that can control the body. Slowly the heart moves in as a rival and/or a competitor to the mind. The body now listens to two masters. The fight between the mind and the heart goes on and on with a lot of wins and loss. The real master, our soul is still sleeping dormant waiting to be called. This awakening of soul almost never happens to a common man and when the body retires, the soul is disturbed and it wakes up and goes and finds another body or just wanders in planes unknown. Is it really possible to realise the soul with in us? The anwser is yes. I have told you already that when the mind and the heart works in unison on one thought or idea , the execution of the action is perfect and the result a grand success!!! Who will bring this awaken state of the soul? Is it the Mind,Heart or the body? The three musketeers should be mastered to be in the same page. Somewhere something should crack and pave way for a new living where the Mind, Heart and Body should have only one aim which is to realise the soul hidden in the deeper depths of thyself. The awakened soul can skip a couple of rebirths. The soul after completion of the refinement process over a series of rebirths can attain a state which the conscious mind cannot conceive. In that state the entire system that the soul puts itself in ( be it earth or any other plane) will dance according to the tunes of the soul. The Soul decides whether it should come to earth in the form of life or remain immortal through space and time... Sounds interesting huh? Well, this can be considered just as a theory. I feel there is logic in it.. You cannot call this rubbish.. Yet you cannot completely trust this content. That is where the problem is. Your mind or heart thinks that this whole idea might be a possibility. May be your heart agrees and your mind disagrees or viceversa. To understand things better make your mind and heart as one. This will pave way to new learnings.. How does one unite the mind and the heart? More on my next article...........
